Sweet Escape

Right now, all I want to do is relax and do some 'soul-searching' in one of these serene places...

From The Odd Life of Timothy Green
From Disney's The Secrets of the Magic Gourd

I also like the location of the film--The Lucky One. And because Summer is near...

See The World ^_^

Ever since I started working at home, I felt that I have been missing a lot; particularly when it comes to those places I usually see on my way back home or on my way to the office. I miss the busy streets, the busy people roaming the malls, the jeepneys and all sorts of random sights that an everyday life in a small city could offer. Although I wasn't that active in exploring the city before, I could feel some drive within me that's wanting to explore different places within the City. I know there are still lots of corners and streets that I haven't visited even once although our City is a bit small and easy to navigate. And even though a part of me is telling me that what I wanted to do could be a bit risky, well, I'd rather explore than die from a monotonous living. After all, I'm a sucker for adventure.

My love for traveling, I figured, should not be given any limits. I should go out and see the world! Of course, I ought to start from where I live. The city may be small, but I know there are lots in store; waiting to be discovered. What I had been planning to do, is go out every single day... do some short to long walks... starting from our vicinity to as far as I could go. Of course, I'd take a camera with me to take shots of random people, sights or anything that could capture my interest. It doesn't have to be grand or something very spectacular. Otherwise, I'd feel pressure to find something remarkable. I'll just have to enjoy my walks, and the scenes that would unfold before me. Still, I'm hoping that many fun and memorable things would come my way.

Hey, isn't that another way to exercise? lol Yeah, that could be another advantage to this endeavor. Hopefully, I won't get lazy. But I only feel lazy when it's raining or the weather isn't that assuring. I'm still thinking about the time for when I should go out; either during my lunch break or after my working hours. well, maybe depends on the mood; what matters is that I shouldn't miss a day without making any discovery. This was also triggered by some great photos I've seen a few days ago. I was inspired by those people who were able to capture real-life, random events. But hey, they looked extraordinary when presented well. I wish I have a high-quality camera. Though I don't really want to go around holding those inconvenient-looking DSLRs; they may be able to capture really good images. But I don't want to attract so much attention.

Well, that's all for now. I have lots of plans and goals for this year. Hopefully, I can get them done; even just half of it. Hopefully, this would serve as a good start for me :D

Looking Back O_O

As I've mentioned a couple of times here, the year 2011 has been very rough and tough for me. But then I realized that the obstacles and sufferings I've faced were nothing compared to others. As you may already know, the Philippines has gone through a lot of tragedies this year due to natural calamities and other forces of nature. And I am quite sure that more people suffered a more cruel fate. Thus, I should refrain from feeling sorry for myself; especially after I somehow counted all the blessings, privileges and great opportunities bestowed upon me.

2011 has been a year for travels and trips. It's the year where I had gone to various places, far and near. Those trips served as bonding moments with whomever I was with. It was also a way for me to forget all the bad happenings. And though some unnecessary and unwanted events tried to ruin some of my trips, I was still able to enjoy every moment like it was my last. I just hope that more trips will come my way this year.

Going to Cebu-Bohol with (Teampourra) my largest circle of friends was perhaps the most adventurous and very memorable trip. We visited a lot of places, and experienced caving like no other. It was really fun; although I had been a killjoy for quite some time. lol I always have a hard time "eliminating" whenever I'm traveling. Maybe that's one of the reasons why I had mood swings. lol

We also went to witnessed our friend's wedding that was held, of course, in the province or hometown of his wife. The wedding was fun and cool, although it was rainy. And the memories were added when we visited the Sampaguita Garden where we all felt young and "childish."

The place was amazing; full of detailed and mesmerizing dolls. I wished we could have stayed overnight. I bet the place is more beautiful with some colorful lights on during the night. But the experience was more than enough to satisfy our crave for new places.

My last trip before the year ended was our 6-pax trip to Agho Island, Concepcion. It was a magnificent island with white sands, massive rocks and lots of corals. That was the best trip with fewer people; and one that I did not organize. It really felt good to just relax and enjoy the moment. We had good laughs, good food, good accommodation and a great scenery. I could stay in that place for a week without getting bored!

And before I forget, last year has also been the year for Food Trips. We were kind of prone to "mass starvation" and guilty pleasures of monstrous tummy. Unfortunately, I'm not a voracious eater like my other girlfriends even though I "seem" to be the one with big appetite. lol Office food trips were actually the ones that sort of blew me off. It's like, we were always hungry as we were always eating! Ice cream and Pizza became a natural sight in our pantry. And as much as I want to go on a diet, I just can't say No; especially if you're being blackmailed. lol

The opportunity to finally consider working at home has also presented itself. Some bad things made me decide to pass my resignation. Actually, I have been planning to resign from that company; I just wanted to have a reasonable reason for doing so. But when I was given the chance to work together with my friend, I stayed. So when the exit door caught my attention, I did not waste any moment and started to pave my way through being a home-based agent. So far, so good. :)

Almost...

I am a sucker for Art; and so I can’t help but share these almost-real pencil drawings or what is called as photorealistic pencil sketches:

Added with the original work of a talented friend:

Oh well, that's all for now.. ;)

When Dreaming Of Adam...

Most of my friends would tell me that sometimes, or most of the time, it seems like "I'm one of the boys." Well, maybe because I grew up with the "guidance" of many Uncles, I enjoy playing with the boys... and for so many other reasons. But it doesnt mean that I'm a tomboy (just boyish? Whatever :P) or something. HAHA. And this post will prove my claim. :)

I have my own set of celebrity crushes. But I dont go for the really popular guys or those men most girls drool for like Robert P. - makes me wonder... tsktsktsk... I actually categorize them according to the following:

The Apple of my Eyes

- Josh Holloway, Wentworth Miller, Jensen Ackles and Channing Tatum

I'm a "Lost", "Prison Break" and "Supernaturals" fan; and the first three guys are my fave tv actors (or maybe its their roles that I really love? ahaha) Well, what's not to like about Channing? Not only that he's a good dancer (and really yummy?) but also a versatile actor.

My Alpha Male
- Gerard Butler, Jason Statham, Johnny Depp and Robert Downey Jr.

Need I say more about them? *sigh :D Uhm, can I add Ben Barnes? (perhaps the youngest in the group) ;) P.S I dont usually go for guys with big bodies or bulging muscles; but Statham is different. He's super duper cool. Woot-woot! :D

The Small but Terrible

- Jet Li, Ewan McGregor

I have always loved Jet Li (and of course, Jackie Chan - when it comes to martial arts/action movies). And fell in love with Ewan ever since Moulin Rouge. *giggles :))

The Musician
- Jason Mraz, Josh Groban

They can serenade me over and over again without me getting bored. ;)

The Father Figure
- Liam Neeson, Al Pacino, Alan Rickman, Sean Connery

Yeah, I want them to be my dads.. They play great (father) roles, right? From a Jedi to a Mafia Boss, and James Bond; yep, including "Snape". ;)

And many to mention. I'm a sucker for movies and even tv series, you know. When I created this post, I thought of including local artists/actors in my list; but I ended up not doing anyway. :)) Maybe because I wasn't really fond of them or that I have a few choices? *peace :D Some other time, okay? ;)

If I Were To Time Travel...

Do you ever wonder - “What if I could turn back time?” or “What if I could go back to the past?” What would you do? Where shall you go or on what particular time/event of the past? Would you want to change something? Are you even interested in witnessing the events of the past? Me? Of course! As long as I “can’t” distort history, I’d really want to witness many historical incidents. I will no longer wish to go back in time so I can undo this or that. I know it’s just not fair or something – what’s there to learn if people don’t make mistakes?

All I want to do, if I were given the chance to time travel, is to observe firsthand the occurrences of the past which I’ve never been a part of…

This post is actually a continuation of (or in connection to) my previous post – Into the Time Stream.

So where do I want to go if blasted to the past?

As much as possible, I’d really want to go back to the time when…

·         The World is about to be Created
·         Moses Divided The Red Sea
·         The Ten Commandments Were Made and Presented
·         The Birth/Death of Christ
·         Dinosaurs, and Dragons are still around
·         Nature is at its best
·         Great Pyramids and the Great Wall of China are being Built
·         Troy Fell
·         Greek Mythology is quite… real
·         Cleopatra is still alive... and pretty? Hmmm
·         There’s a big fight/duel in the The Colosseum or Roman Coliseum
·         Construction of Stonehenge in Britain begins
·         The Greeks and Persians are at War
·         Japan/America Colonized Philippines

And so many more... Yep, some events may seem a tragedy or traumatic enough for those who have witnessed it... But because I wasn’t able to experience it myself, I want to find out what it feels like… I am prepared... as long as I’m an invisible spectator... ahahaha :D

I Salute To These Women ^_^

Hi there... Let me share to you some photos of pretty, cool and sexy Women in Uniform; photos of my "favorite" female soldiers (I like their uniforms, their designation, and of course, their beauty) from various countries.

I was able to discover them during one of my boring working days. They make me proud that I'm a woman.. ;) *enjoy :D

Who's Got The Eye?

I like images, photos and stuff like that. It always mazaes me how some people can capture breathtaking moments, sceneries and even funny or memorable stolen shots. For me, the best photographers are those who can find the right angle and the proper timing. Not everyone can simply point and shoot and then be able to achieve really great photos. It takes a good eye to catch a good picture.

While photography can be learned, for me, it is a form of art accomplished only by those who are given the extraordinary eye and mind; to catch a prospect and build unique concepts out of it. And mind you, though I can appreciate people who have good skills in terms of enhancing photos or images, I'd still prefer raw photos taken out of talent and perfect timing.

Now let me share to you some of the photos that really caught my interest. These photos were taken either coincidentally or through a perfect timing and a good eyesight:

Are they not fun and cool to look at? :D

Breathtaking Seclusion

When it comes to privacy, I always see to it that I can enjoy my right to have one. I get easily irritated with too much noise. So for me, living in a crowded and dirty neighborhood is like living in hell. I am kind of an OC person; thus unorganized stuff and messy places would surely make me sick. I dont fancy listening to loud music or staying in a place where dfferent voices and sources of noise would try to break my eardrums. But it doesnt mean I dont like to mingle with other people or that I want to be alone. I'm a fun-loving individual, but in moderation.

Seclusion, for me, is either a form of punishment or an exaggerated version of privacy. You dont have to seclude yourself from everyone else if your issue is as simple as privacy. If you cant help but live in a house with many households, you can, at least, spend some time in other peaceful place to enjoy your break. Either you stay one night or two at your friend's house or rent a temporary place of your own.

Now let me share to you some photos of houses wherein seclusion hasnt been taken lightly. I dont know if these are real photos, though:

Well, I can live in this place provided I have a good Internet connection and other needs. But I guess this would do as just a vacation spot. :)

I don't think this place is far away from civilization; but I'd easily get lost here. Though staying here for a month would be kind of challenging. ;)

Not sure what kind of place is this or if I can really find this one for real. But it kinda looks amazing. :D

I dont think it's quite hard living in this place. I'd surely love it here! :D

Places I'd Really Want To Go

Is there a person out there who hates traveling? Aren't you dreaming of going to places like countries with marvelous sceneries and tourist spots? Well, I am one of the many people who have been aspiring to travel all over the world. And I really drool whenever I see some folks happily spending their vacation on various places I'd really love to go to. But of course, I'm not that rich to be able to do that anytime I wanted to. However, when given the chance, I'd surely grab the opportunity and travel even to just one of the following places or countries:

Well, who doesn't want to visit France? Or Paris for an instance? Perhaps France is one of the most beautiful and fulfilling places to pay a visit to. Paris is even referred to as the most romantic city in the entire world. And France is the first tourist destination that would surely come in mind to many tourists looking for a place to spend a grand vacation. Many would die just to go there. I'd kill for that LOL. In fact, I really wish that I'd be given a chance to go to France; even just to give a quick peek. :D

Why tour to France? Geesh, there are loads of reasons why you should definitely go there, especially if you have all the means. Aren't you stunned and curious about the famous Eiffel Tower? And even if you are not fond of going to museums or libraries, the Louvre would certainly catch your interests. Since I adore breathtaking architecture and landmarks, I'd never dare pass the Cathedral of Notre Dame without taking pictures of it or roaming around in this Gothic style church. Besides, French cuisine is thought to be the best in the world; wont you really give it a try?

Italy, in itself, is one spectacular country to visit. Such country is the cradle of European culture and diverse people; it is also the birthplace of the "Renaissance". Italy is the home of many famous artists such as Da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Raphael and Bernini. When it comes to architecture, art, culture, religion and literature, Italy is rich in every aspect. Rome, Milan and Venice are just some of its beautiful cities you shouldn't miss. And hey, haven't you heard of The Vatican City?

I am particularly in loved with Rome. Just who among you doesn't want to explore the "capital of the world" or the so-called Eternal City? The architecture and many forms of art exhibited there are just jaw-breaking that coming to such place would always leave you with the widest grin and a boastful aura. Just tell me who can say no to going to "the greatest of all churches of Christendom" which is the St. Peter's Basilica? And who on earth would close his eyes to the wonders of the Roman Colosseum, the Sistine Chapel, the Leaning Tower Of Pisa, the Bridge of Angels and the St. Peter's Square? Man, I could roam all throughout the Rome for days without much sleep and yet would always want to keep coming back.

Greece

Ahhh.. just the sight of Greece, also known as Hellas, in many photos is already making me drool LOL. But can you really not include Greece in your list of "places I'd really want to go just before I die?" I just cant get my eyes off the serene beauty of the magnificent and glorious that is Greece. Athens is perhaps the most famous tourist spot in Greece and people would usually go sneak a peak at Parthenon.

Ancient Greece is considered to be the cradle of the Western civilization and the birthplace of democracy; the modern Greece has become the official Hellenic Republic. Greece is full of fantastic forms of history and literature as well as philosophy and sports; from the Olympic Games to the Greek mythology and many famous scientific and mathematical principles, you can name them all. And hey, have you forgotten about Alexander the Great? Greece is one of the most mountainous countries in Europe. And this is where you can find the so-called throne of the Gods or the focal point of the Greek culture, the Mt. Olympus.
